Keiran Young is a BSc (Hons) Geography student at Inverness College UHI.
"The field trips have allowed me to explore not only my own country but also included a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to hike across the Swiss Alps and walk along the snout of a Glacier.
My work experience was spent with SSE where I used the skills I gained from the degree, conducting both habitat and geological/archaeological surveys. I also made contacts in the company and acquired a basic knowledge of GIS systems, giving me a head start within the GIS module."
What do you think about the style of teaching?
"I think highly of the style of teaching by my lecturers. By giving responsibility to the students, and developing our research and presentation skills, their approach really prepares us for future employment."
